Job Function

The HR Expert is responsible for delivering proactive, professional, and business-focused human resources services across the University. The role supports the development and implementation of HR strategies, policies, and best practices while ensuring compliance with employment legislation and University regulations.

The HR Expert acts as a strategic HR partner to management and provides expert guidance on a broad range of HR matters, while also supporting Director of HR Department in leading day-to-day HR operations and resolving operational issues as required.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR Management
  1. Contribute effectively to the development and implementation of HR strategies aligned with the University’s objectives.
  2. Review and enhance HR policies, procedures, and practices in line with best practices and legal requirements.
  3. Provide HR insights, reports, and recommendations to support management decision-making.
  4. Support workforce planning, succession planning, employee engagement, HR Risks management and organizational development initiatives.
  • HR Operations and Administration
  1. Support day-to-day HR operations and resolve operational HR issues in a timely and effective manner.
  2. Ensure efficient administration of HR processes across the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training, employee relations, and separation processes.
  3. Provide guidance, coaching, and support to HR staff when required.
  4. Represent Director of HR Director when required.
  • HR Accreditation and Quality Assurance
  1. Champion HR-related accreditation, audit, and quality assurance initiatives of the University.
  2. Ensure HR policies, practices, records, and processes comply with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
  3. Coordinate and provide HR documentation, reports, and evidence required for accreditation reviews and institutional assessments.
  4. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance HR quality standards and institutional effectiveness.

Support Director of HR and provide advice on a full range of HR matters, implementation of projects/ HR programs, to ensure the effective management of staff to achieve needs.

Any other relevant duties assigned by the line manager.

Experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of HR experience, preferably within higher education or large organizations.
  • Strong and advanced knowledge of HR best practices, employment legislation, and HR operations.

Skills

  1. A proven ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external contacts.
  2. Skillful in all HR practices and procedures.
  3. Ability to work under pressure and to deal with different people. 
  4. High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. 
  5. Good planning, organizational and analytical skills.
  6. Proficient in IT skills.
  7. Fluent in English.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Master’s degree or professional HR certification is preferred.
