The Assistant Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs and Research shall: • Support the achievement of the university's mission, vision, and strategic objectives related to academic affairs, research, innovation, postgraduate studies, student affairs, admissions, and registration; and contribute to the development, implementation, and review of relevant institutional policies, regulations, procedures, and governance frameworks. • Provide oversight and coordination of the Deanships and units reporting to the position, ensuring effective performance, alignment with institutional objectives, compliance with applicable policies, accreditation standards, quality assurance requirements, and relevant national regulations, and continuous improvement. • Monitor the implementation of strategic and operational plans, key performance indicators, decisions, and directives related to units under the position's supervision, and review and provide recommendations on reports, proposals, projects, and strategic initiatives referred by DVCAAR. • Support the enhancement of academic quality, student success, research excellence, innovation, and postgraduate education through continuous improvement initiatives, and promote collaboration among academic, research, and student support units to strengthen institutional performance, student experience, research productivity, and interdisciplinary engagement. • Support institutional accreditation, quality assurance, benchmarking, and university ranking initiatives through performance monitoring, analysis, and implementation of improvement actions. • Support the development of strategic partnerships, industry engagement, consultancy, community engagement, and external collaborations that advance the University's academic, research, and societal impact. • Coordinate with governmental authorities, regulatory bodies, external stakeholders, and the University's campuses, colleges, and administrative units to ensure compliance, alignment, and effective implementation of institutional policies, regulations, and quality standards related to academic affairs and research. • Perform such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by DVCAAR, consistent with the scope and level of the position.
