Job Function

The Research Assistant in Business Management /Accounting & Finance will primarily support the research efforts of the principal investigator in the funded research project. This role involves conducting literature reviews, gathering, and analyzing data, assisting in the development of research proposals, and contributing to the dissemination of research findings through publications and presentations.

Responsibilities

  1. Literature Review: Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to gather relevant information and identify gaps in existing research within the field of Accounting & Finance.
  2. Data Analysis: Assist in the collection, organization, and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data using appropriate research methodologies and statistical techniques.
  3. Development of a Research Methodology: Execute data collection, developing the methods, and statistical analysis tools, and ensure accuracy and reliability.
  4. Results Interpretation and Discussion: Utilize statistical tools or qualitative analysis techniques to interpret research data. Assist in interpreting research findings and connecting them to the broader context.
  5. Publication Support: Contribute to the writing and editing of research papers, reports, and presentations for publication in academic journals, conference proceedings, and other scholarly outlets.

Project Coordination: Coordinate research activities, including scheduling meetings, arranging participant recruitment, managing research databases, and ensuring compliance with ethical guidelines and research protocols.

Experience

The candidate should have a minimum of 4-5 years of relevant experience in academic research or applied research settings. This may include experience as a research assistant, postdoctoral researcher, or similar role within academia or industry. Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methods, including statistical analysis and data interpretation.

Skills

  1. Advanced knowledge of theories, frameworks, and methodologies relevant to Accounting & Finance research.
  2. Proficiency in research design, data collection, and analysis techniques.

Familiarity with academic publishing standards and conventions and project management.

Qualification

  1. PhD in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  2. Strong academic background with a focus on quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
  3. Proficiency in statistical analysis Software (e.g., SPSS, R, AMOS, SMARTPLS) and Qualitative Data Analysis tools (e.g., NVivo).
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and succinctly.
  5. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
  6. Prior experience in academic research and Grant application, is highly desirable

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced research environment
