The ideal candidate will have a Ph.D. in Management Information Systems/Computer Science or a closely related field, with demonstrated expertise in Programming, Software Engineering, Data Science and Business Analytics, Information Technologies, Mobile Application Development, Cloud Computing, and Information Security.
Responsibilities
Teaching and Curriculum Development:
- Design and teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in computer science topics such as programming, algorithms, databases, operating systems, and specialized courses in IT and data analysis.
- Employ innovative and engaging teaching methodologies to meet student learning outcomes.
- Develop curriculum, course content, and learning materials for Management Information Systems, Data Science and Business Analytics, Information Technologies, and related programs, aligning with the latest industry trends and technologies.
Advising and Mentorship:
- Advise students on academic and career pathways and mentor students in research and projects.
- Maintain student records and monitor progress and performance.
Research and Publication:
- Conduct and publish high-quality research in business intelligence applications, machine learning, AI, and data analysis.
- Pursue research funding through governmental, industry, and organizational grants and partnerships.
Service and Engagement:
- Serve on departmental, college, and university committees and initiatives.
- Foster student success through academic support services and co-curricular engagement.
- Participate in professional development activities to continually advance knowledge and teaching practices.
- Undertake community outreach, industry engagement, and promotional activities for the program and department.
Collaborate with faculty colleagues on interdisciplinary initiatives that enhance student learning.
Experience
- Must have a minimum of two years of experience in teaching and research as an Assistant Professor at a recognized higher education institution.
- Information Technology and Information System:
- Expertise in systems architecture (servers, storage, networking, virtualization, web technologies).
- Mastery of database platforms (SQL, Oracle, MongoDB).
- Proficiency with BI analytics tools (Tableau, Power BI, QlikView).
- Strong systems analysis and design skills (UML, requirement gathering).
- Programming skills (Java, JavaScript, Python, C#, Rust, Go).
- Cloud technologies expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud).
- Knowledge of OS administration (Windows Server, Linux, Virtualization).
- Understanding of IT infrastructure and computer hardware.
- Familiarity with IT service delivery models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, FaaS).
- Hands-on with automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, Terraform).
- Process automation & integration (APIs, ETL, microservices).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Data Science and Business Analytics:
- Expertise in R and Python (NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
- Experience with data mining, cleaning, and munging techniques (or data wrangling).
- Knowledge of machine learning algorithms like regression, classification, and clustering.
- Ability to teach statistical analysis methods and modeling.
- Familiarity with big data platforms like Hadoop, Spark, and cloud-based data tools (Databricks, BigQuery).
- Visualization skills with Tableau, Power BI, D3.js, and Plotly.
- Understanding of neural networks, NLP, and sentiment analysis.
- Must have a Scopus h-index of 6 or higher.
- A strong command of the following areas:
Experience with MLOps practices and tools (Kubeflow, MLflow).
Skills
- Fluency in written and spoken English is required; the ability to teach courses in both English and Arabic is preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in teaching and developing courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in MIS, IT, data science and business analytics, and information technology programs. or closely related fields.
- Experience designing curricula, assessments, and learning materials for MIS, data science and business analytics, and information technology programs.
- Ability to lead collaborative initiatives and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Skills in advising and mentoring students academically and professionally.
- Established a record of high-quality publications in top-tier peer-reviewed journals/conferences in research.

- Excellent communication and presentation abilities to convey complex topics.

Qualification
A holder of a Ph.D. degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a closely related domain from an accredited university.
