Job Function
Assist faculty members in conducting a diverse range of basic and advanced laboratory classes to undergraduate and/or graduate students in the department.
Responsibilities
- Setting up and operating laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Preparation of materials and equipments for the practical sessions.
- Teaching laboratory sessions related to the field.
- Helping students to set up, operate laboratory equipment and instruments to run the experiments.
- Grading of students’ reports.
- Cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Ensuring adequate stocks of materials and equipment.
- Ensuring the general security of materials and equipment.
- Comply with laboratory safety procedures.
- Possess adequate knowledge of instrumentation, theory, and application of new and existing tests.
- Ensuring that experiments are undertaken in accordance with Health and Safety rules.
Any other duties assigned by the line manager, HoD or Dean.
Experience
Fresh graduate from an accredited university and Practical experience will be an advantage.
Skills
- Ability to organize and maintain the laboratory.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
- Advanced interpersonal verbal and written communications skills.
- Competence in IT skills
Qualification
A holder of a Bachelor degree or an equivalent degree in Industrial Chemistry, or related field from a recognized University.
