Job Function
Assist faculty members in conducting diverse range of basic and advanced laboratory classes to undergraduate and/or graduate students in the department.
Responsibilities
- Setting up and operating laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Preparation of materials and equipments for the practical sessions.
- Assist in teaching laboratory sessions related to the field.
- Helping students to set up, operate laboratory equipment and instruments to run the experiments.
- Grading of students’ reports.
- Cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Ensuring adequate stocks of materials and equipment.
- Ensuring the general security of materials and equipment.
- Comply with laboratory safety procedures.
- Possess adequate knowledge of instrumentation, theory, and application of new and existing tests.
- Ensuring that experiments are undertaken in accordance with Health and Safety rules.
Any other duties assigned by the Dean.
Experience
Two years of experience in a full-time academic appointment teaching under graduate laboratory or a Fresh Graduate with a GPA no less than 3.0
Skills
- Ability to organize and maintain the laboratory.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team
- Advanced interpersonal verbal and written communications skills.
Competence in IT skills
Qualification
A holder of a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent degree in the relevant or related field from a recognized University.
