The IT Technician is responsible for supporting the University IT infrastructure, ensuring reliable access to technology, and providing timely technical assistance
Responsibilities
- Monitoring and maintaining IT systems to ensure optimal performance and accessibility.
- Responding to user inquiries and providing guidance on the use of network applications and devices.
- Delivering IT services in a prompt, efficient, and customer-focused manner.
- Assisting in maintaining IT documentation and adherence to operational standards.
- Ensuring all technology resources are up to date with appropriate hardware and software.
- Installing and configuring hardware and software on workstations.
- Performing maintenance and repairs on IT equipment.
- Troubleshooting issues related to computers, printers, projectors, photocopiers, and audiovisual systems.
- Implementing and maintaining computer security measures.
- Configuring workstations within the network environment.
- Providing technical support both on-site and remotely (via phone or email).
- Managing and maintaining computer labs to ensure smooth operation.
- Assisting with the setup and support of online interviews.
- Managing the movement and tracking of IT assets related to the Helpdesk section
- Providing technical support for events held in the auditorium.
Any other related tasks assigned by line manager.
Qualification
Bachelor degree from an accredited university in IT or Computer Science or related field.
