Job Function
The laboratory technician in physics will be responsible for assisting faculty members in conducting diverse range of basic and advanced laboratory sessions for undergraduate and/or graduate students in the college.
Responsibilities
- Setting up and operating laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Preparation of materials and equipment for the lab practical sessions.
- Assist students in setting up, operate laboratory equipment and instruments to run the experiments.
- Grading student’s reports.
- Cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Ensuring the availability of adequate stock of materials and equipment.
- Ensuring the general security of materials and equipment.
- Comply with the laboratory safety procedure.
- Possess adequate knowledge of instrumentation, theory, and application of new and existence test.
- Ensuring the experiments are undertaken in accordance with health and safety rules.
Any other duties assigned by the Dean and/or HoD.
Experience
Minimum of one year experience in a full time academic appointment teaching undergraduate laboratory or Got enough training in laboratories after graduation that supervised by specialist with recommendation report.
Skills
- Ability to organize and maintain the laboratory.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Advanced interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
- Competence in IT skills
Qualification
B.Sc. in Physics from a recognized university/academic institution.
