Job Function
The Research Assistant in Tourism/Entrepreneurship will primarily support the research efforts of the principal investigator in a funded research project. This role involves conducting literature reviews, gathering and analyzing data, assisting in developing research proposals, and contributing to disseminating research findings through publications and presentations.
Responsibilities
- Literature Review: Conduct comprehensive literature reviews to gather relevant information and identify gaps in existing research within the field of tourism and entrepreneurship.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Assist in the collection, organization, and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data using appropriate research methodologies and statistical techniques.
- Research Proposal Development: Collaborate with senior researchers to develop research proposals, including formulating research questions, designing methodologies, and outlining project timelines and deliverables.
- Publication Support: Contribute to the writing and editing of research papers, reports, and presentations for publication in academic journals, conference proceedings, and other scholarly outlets.
Project Coordination: Coordinate research activities, including scheduling meetings, arranging participant recruitment, managing research databases, and ensuring compliance with ethical guidelines and research protocols.
Experience
Candidates should have a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in academic research or applied research settings. This may include experience as a research assistant, postdoctoral researcher, or similar role within academia or industry.
Skills
- Advanced knowledge of theories, frameworks, and methodologies relevant to marketing and entrepreneurship research.
- Proficiency in research design, data collection, and analysis techniques.
Familiarity with academic publishing standards and conventions
Qualification
- PhD in Marketing, Tourism Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Publication Track Record with a minimum of 5 Q1-ranked Scopus as First author.
- Strong academic background focusing on quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, AMOS, SMARTPLS) and qualitative data analysis tools (e.g., NVivo).
- Prior experience in academic research, preferably in tourism marketing and entrepreneurship, is highly desirable
Grant Writing Experience (Preferable): Proven experience in preparing and submitting research grant proposals, with a successful track record in securing funding—highly beneficial for supporting institutional projects
